The basics
Click a link we've marked, start a paid subscription, and the company behind the app may pay us a cut. Your price is unaffected.
Money can't buy these
Ratings, ranking spots and the pros-and-cons lists are all finalised before any commercial email lands. A company can't purchase a higher position, have a criticism pulled, or get a rival bumped off the list. Apps with no affiliate scheme are put through precisely the same process, and at the moment two of the seven apps in our ranking don't pay us a cent.
Telling them apart
Affiliate links carry a sponsored tag in the page's code, and each one sits beside a notice saying so.
About those two non-paying apps
They've earned their spots on merit, so there they stay. Commission revenue goes on hosting and the paid accounts we test with, never on a friendlier number.
