Memory is the whole point
On day two I mentioned something trivial. On day sixteen it resurfaced casually, not as a party trick. That's Nomi's promise in a nutshell. Group chat is the extra: several companions in one thread, each with its own history.
| Comparison point | Nomi | Candy AI |
|---|---|---|
| Chat | Follows your lead, shorter replies | Leads more, writes longer scenes |
| Memory | Top of our ranking | Reliable for about a week |
| Images | There, but not a reason to choose it | Best in our ranking |
| Price | Dearest in our ranking | Cheaper, more included |
How it chats
It waits. Replies are brief and it seldom takes over the conversation. For a companion you talk with, that's the right setting. For a scene you'd like written for you, it can come across as a little passive.
Where it drops the ball
Its images can't compete, and voice quality varies from character to character. You pay more than for Candy AI and get a narrower toolkit, so if media is why you're here, read the Candy AI review.
Group chat in practice
Two Nomis in one thread didn't merge into a single voice. One even picked up on something I'd only told the other. Slower than Candy AI. Better manners.
