Building is the main event
Six stages: appearance, personality, voice, backstory, the way it speaks to you, and topics it must steer clear of. That final stage is unusual, and it's the reason my Camsoda character strayed less than the ones I created elsewhere.
| Stage | Your choice |
|---|---|
| 1 | Appearance |
| 2 | Personality |
| 3 | Voice |
| 4 | Backstory |
| 5 | How it speaks to you |
| 6 | Topics to avoid |
One memory per character
Create three companions and each one holds on to its own history with you. It sounds like a given, yet most apps still lump everything into a single account-wide memory.
What's lacking
There's no native app; you'll be using a browser. Pricing isn't shown on the public website either. You only see it after signing up, so I won't make up a figure here, and when the monthly cost is half the decision, that's a genuine drawback.
Push past the first hour
The pre-built characters feel like a brochure. Things came together once I worked through the six-step builder and filled in the list of topics to avoid.
